Students at Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus were able to question their Welsh Conservative Senedd Member Natasha Asghar MS recently as part of a special Welcome to Your Vote event.
Organised by the college’s politics society, the event saw politicians and political groups engage with students and young people in a bid to break down the barriers between young people and their elected representatives, and to encourage them to register to vote.
Natasha Asghar MS, who represents South Wales East in the Welsh Parliament, said:
“This event was a great opportunity to connect with some of the area’s young people and find out what issues matter to them the most.
“I had some great conversations, listening to students’ concerns and talking about some of the things I have been up to as their Welsh Conservative Member of the Senedd.
“The college’s politics society did a fantastic job pulling this event together and I hope it has encouraged more young people to get involved in politics and the upcoming Senedd election."
