Plans to build five new railway stations in South East Wales have been unveiled with the area’s Member of the Welsh Parliament encouraging the public to have their say.
Transport for Wales have revealed how the five new stations at Cardiff East, Newport West, Somerton, Llanwern and Magor and Undy could look.
It’s hoped the new stations will offer some relief to the congestion plagued M4.
Natasha Asghar MS, who represents South East Wales, is encouraging residents across her region to have their say by taking part in Transport for Wales’ public consultation.
She said: “For far too long, our train network has been letting passengers down and this is without a doubt a step in the right direction.
“Having consistently campaigned for a new station at Magor and Undy, I am particularly pleased to see these plans progress further.
“It is vital now that people all across South East Wales take part in the consultation and give their feedback to help shape these proposals.”
