Top car-renting company, Enterprise, gave Natasha Asghar MS the latest rundown on their plans for a shared mobility scheme in Newport.
They’re currently working with a fleet of around 20 cars in Cardiff, providing commuters with the option to drive to work without having to own a car.
This would bring a fantastic opportunity to drive to work without the worry of having to maintain a vehicle.
Plus, you could share lifts with colleagues and split the hire cost – saving on cars on the road and money.
Shared mobility bridges that gap that public transport doesn’t reach. Have you ever tried to figure out a bus route to work and given up?
With Newport’s plans to improve transport infrastructure, shared mobility could offer another option to visitors, commuters, and residents to get around and make the most of the city.
Speaking after the visit, Natasha Asghar MS said:
“Daily commuters need more options than just owning a car or relying on poor public transport networks.
“This really takes the stress out of owning a car, especially if you live somewhere with difficult parking options.
“Not everyone needs to make a journey every day. Sometimes it could just be on the weekends when you want to go somewhere that has poor transport links. This is perfect for those moments.”
