Urgent improvements to our struggling health service

Our NHS staff go above and beyond every single day, but healthcare provision in South East Wales simply isn’t up to scratch.

Hospital waiting lists continue to spiral out of control, people cannot get an appointment to see their GP and there aren’t enough dentists.

I will continue to push for improvements to The Grange Hospital in Cwmbran because it is not acceptable people are being forced to wait hours upon end in A&E or in the back of an ambulance because there isn’t enough beds.

There are chronic shortages within all areas of our health service with the NHS currently missing nearly 3,000 registered nurses.

It is vital the Welsh Government examines not only pay within the Welsh NHS, but also key conditions such as mental health support, retention, upskilling and staffing gaps.
