Driving investment into the region

Without a doubt, the coronavirus pandemic dealt a major blow to the Welsh economy, but sadly things were bad before thanks to years of neglect from Labour governments in Cardiff Bay.

With Wales having the highest business rates in Great Britain and the lowest disposable income in the UK, things need to change.

We need to get the Welsh economy fired up and see more investment in South East Wales, which will in turn create more jobs, opportunities and skills.

I want to see a freeport and tech hub created in the region, attracting new businesses, jobs, and investment.

We need to work with local authorities across South East Wales to draw up town centre regeneration plans to ensure shops aren’t left empty for long and increase footfall.
