Opposition to the Welsh Government’s costly 20mph speed limit scheme shows no sign of easing. If anything, it’s continuing to grow.
In the Welsh Parliament, I continue to stand up for the people of Wales and lead the charge to have this £33m scheme axed.
There is absolutely a need for speed reduction measures outside places like schools, playgrounds and hospitals, but this approach by the Welsh Government is far too drastic.
Nearly 500,000 people signed a record-breaking petition to have the policy - which is poised to deliver a £9bn blow to the economy - rescinded yet sadly it appears Welsh Government ministers still aren’t listening.
Despite a slight change in rhetoric from the government, 20mph is here to stay and the battle goes on!
