Youngsters at Libanus Primary School quizzed Natasha Asghar MS on a range of topics this week ahead of a trip to the Welsh Parliament.
Year 3 and 4 pupils at the Blackwood school wanted to find out more about the work of politicians and what the Senedd does before they visit on Thursday (March 14).
Natasha talked to them about her journey into politics, what her day-to-day life is like, the role of the Welsh Parliament as well as all the eco-friendly features of the building itself.
The children were fascinated to hear about the Welsh Parliament’s bee hives, which are based on the Pierhead building.
Natasha also discussed some of the things she has been working on including campaigning against blanket 20mph speed limits and expanding the Welsh Parliament before taking questions from the pupils.
They asked a range of fantastic questions about a whole host of different areas including Natasha’s political journey, career highlights so far, her colleagues and her South East Wales region.
Natasha Asghar MS, who represents South East Wales in the Welsh Parliament, said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to meet with the pupils at Libanus Primary School and chat with them about my role as their Member of the Welsh Parliament.
“They asked me some wonderful questions and it was great to see them so engaged with the Welsh Parliament and the work we do.
“I hope they have a fantastic trip to the Senedd, and I can’t wait to hear all about it when I next visit the school.”
